Wakefield district community interest company

Food, skills, confidence and community.

Tinyidea Community CIC turns award-winning food experience into practical programmes that help people build confidence, learn real-life skills and feel part of their community.

Practical learning should be engaging, accessible and relevant to real life. We use food, sport, teamwork and community partnerships to create routes into confidence, wellbeing, volunteering and future employment.

About us

Built from years of food-led community work.

Tinyidea Community CIC is a new Community Interest Company founded by Steve Wright and based in the Wakefield district. It grew naturally from the community work already happening through Tinyidea Food, including food bank support, donations, holiday hunger initiatives and meals for people experiencing food poverty.

The CIC gives that work a sustainable home. Our focus is education, inclusion, wellbeing and opportunity, delivered through hands-on food education, physical activity, accredited learning and local partnerships.

What guides us

Support that empowers rather than stigmatises.

Inclusion

Activities are designed around different needs, abilities and learning styles, including SEND.

Dignity

People are respected, listened to and encouraged to make choices about their own goals.

Practical learning

Participants learn by doing, building confidence through real tasks and visible progress.
